Your information & your choices
Privacy Policy
Effective October 31, 2026
Dateit LLC operates Arc3D, a CAD app for iPad. This policy explains how we handle information when you use Arc3D, test it through TestFlight, visit this page, or contact us.
1. Your projects and files
You can use Arc3D without creating an Arc3D account. Project content is stored on your device or in locations you choose through Apple's file and sharing interfaces. Arc3D does not operate a cloud service for storing your CAD projects.
If you export, share, back up, or save a file using iCloud, another storage provider, or another app, that service handles the file under its own terms and privacy policy. If you choose to send a project to us for support, we receive the content you send.
2. Usage analytics
Arc3D uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand app usage and improve features, onboarding, and reliability. In current TestFlight builds, analytics is on by default to help us evaluate the beta, unless you have already turned it off. You can opt out in Settings at any time. App Store builds keep analytics off until you choose Share Analytics, with an equally available Don’t Share choice. Earlier TestFlight builds may ask for permission or may not contain analytics.
When enabled, analytics includes:
- App activity: first use, sessions, engagement, and visits to Home, Workspace, Settings, Lessons, and Quick Tour.
- Selected actions: successful project creation or opening; lesson and Quick Tour starts and completions; and successful STEP or STL file generation. Lesson identifiers and export formats use a fixed list of values.
- Technical information: an automatically generated app-instance identifier, app version, device model, operating system, language, and approximate geographic information derived from the network connection. Analytics does not request precise location through Apple's location services.
Firebase also processes technical diagnostic information about its SDK, such as device, operating-system, app-bundle, and developer-platform information, to understand platform adoption and improve the service. Firebase states that this SDK user-agent information is not linked to a user or device identifier.
The app-instance identifier distinguishes an app installation and allows its activity to be grouped over time. We do not assign a custom user ID or send your email address, project names, file paths, model geometry, project contents, or text you enter as analytics event values.
Arc3D's analytics integration does not collect Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA) or vendor identifier (IDFV). Advertising personalization and advertising attribution registration are disabled. We do not sell personal information or use Arc3D analytics for cross-app advertising tracking.
Google processes analytics information to provide the service. Read Firebase's privacy and security information and Google's Privacy Policy for more about Google's handling of data.
3. Your analytics choice
Sharing analytics is optional in both TestFlight and App Store builds. To opt out or withdraw a previous permission, open Settings → Privacy and turn off Share usage analytics. This stops future automatic and custom analytics collection and clears locally stored analytics data and the app-instance identifier. All modeling features remain available. In App Store builds, we rely on your consent before collection; choosing Don’t Share keeps it off.
Your explicit choice and the time it was made are saved on that device, survive app restarts, and are preserved when you change or reset a settings profile. This record is not sent as an analytics event. A saved opt-out is honored in TestFlight and App Store builds. The TestFlight default is not recorded as your consent, and moving to an App Store build requires a choice if you have not already made one. You can turn analytics back on at any time. Reinstalling the app or clearing its stored settings can restore the TestFlight default or require a new choice in an App Store build.
Turning analytics off does not delete data already received by Google. It also does not change Apple's separate TestFlight reporting, information you choose to send for support, or routine requests made when you visit this website.
4. TestFlight and support
If you test Arc3D through TestFlight, Apple collects crash and usage information and shares testing information with us. Feedback you submit may include comments, screenshots, device information, and, depending on how you joined the test, your name or email address. We use this information to investigate issues and improve Arc3D. Apple's collection is governed by Apple's TestFlight privacy notice.
When you email us, we receive your email address and whatever message, attachments, or diagnostic files you choose to provide. We use them to respond to your request and investigate the issue. Please only send information you want us to receive.
The app's Feedback button opens a form hosted by Tally. When you submit it, Tally stores your message and optional email address and sends us an email notification containing your answers. We use this information to review feedback and reply if you provide an email address. The app does not attach project files, names, geometry, or diagnostics to the form. Tally also processes technical information needed to deliver and protect its service; see Tally's Privacy Policy. Feedback is optional and works independently of the usage-analytics setting.
5. This website
This privacy page is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting. We have not added analytics scripts, advertising, tracking pixels, or cookies to the page. Firebase Hosting processes technical request information, including IP addresses, to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and operate the hosting service. Google states that Hosting retains IP addresses for a few months.
7. How long information is kept
The Arc3D Google Analytics property is configured for two months of event-data retention and 14 months of user-data retention. The user-data period resets when new activity occurs. Google's scheduled deletion process applies after those periods; these settings do not limit the retention of aggregated standard reports.
We retain support correspondence, Tally feedback submissions, and TestFlight information for as long as reasonably needed to respond, investigate issues, improve the app, and meet applicable legal obligations. Apple controls retention of information in its own services. Project files remain in the storage locations you choose until you or the relevant storage provider remove them.
8. Privacy requests
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Contact us to make a request. We may need information to verify your request. Because we do not associate an email address or Arc3D account with the analytics app-instance identifier, we may be unable to locate particular analytics records from an email address alone. We will explain the available options and any applicable limitations.
Arc3D is a general-purpose CAD tool and is not designed specifically for children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Arc3D or our practices change. The effective date above identifies the current version. We will provide additional notice when required for material changes.
